Sue Richmond began studying Tang Soo Do in January 2003 after sitting and watching her son Tommy taking classes for 2 weeks. She thought it looked like fun! Three years and many gallons of sweat later, she and Tommy both tested for Cho Dan in Pittsburgh at the International Headquarters of the ITF in front of Grandmaster C. S. Kim. She is presently training for her E Dan test this fall.
In “real life,” Sue is a PRN pediatric home-care Physical Therapist, which means she gets paid to play with toys! She works with children with gross motor skill delays due to a variety of reasons, such as prematurity, cerebral palsy, autism, and Down’s syndrome. She considers it a great privilege to work with these little people and their families in their homes.
Sue is married to Tom and they have 2 sons, Tommy and Andy, ages 16 and (almost) 12. Other than martial arts, Sue enjoys traveling, camping, and ringing handbells in her church bell choir and in a community choir called The River Valley Ringers.
